10 THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT SAXTUTOR

1. Help files
SaxTutor has extensive built in help files. You can call up the help file from the Menu or Press F1 for context
sensitive help. In addition SaxTutor has 'hover hints' on most buttons, simply hover the mouse for a few seconds
above a command or graphic that interests you to find out a little more.

2. Lots of scales...
SaxTutor has nearly 100 Scale patterns in the registered version and nearly 50 in its unregistered form. Click on
the 'Scale' button to start the process, then click on the 'key' graphic if you want to select another.

3. User defined patterns
Both versions of SaxTutor allow you to load your own unique patterns so you can load your own scale patterns
the registered version also allows you to print a fingering chart for any scale either predefined or user loaded.

4. Altissimo notes
SaxTutor has exensive support for notes which are normally considered to be outside the playable range
In fact there are fingering patterns which can extend the range by up to two octaves in V2002.7 each individual.
note can now be called up for detailed examination and, in the registered version, can be printed.

5. You can click on the stave to 'find' a note fingering
It really surprises me how many people have not yet found this feature. Simply click on the stave with the mouse
at the position of the note you are interested in and you can see the fingering pattern.

6. You can click on the keyboard to find a fingering!
As with the above, if you know where your 'note' is on the keyboard give it a click and it will bring up the
relevant fingering for that note.

7. Key variations
Some notes have up to four variations, especially in the Altissimo range. To view these variants you need to be
out of the scale playing mode. there are buttons marked V1 to V4 which call up the relevant fingerings.

8. The help file has tips not shown in the program
Surprisingly enough, some of the best information has not been found by some users. The help file contains some
playing advice which is not available anywhere else in SaxTutor. If you haven't yet searched the help file then you
might just find something that will help your playing technique.

9. Transposition
SaxTutor transposes live for Baritone, Tenor, Alto and Sax, simply select your instrument and you can see each
note in both written and transposed form.

10. More mouthpiece and reed information
The mouthpiece and reed information boxes give a breakdown of the various elements which make them
clicking on the smaller photographs brings up new views and new information .
