Why Register?
in brief.. More scales and the ability to print scale fingering patterns...
Well, I guess the better question would be why not :-). But seriously,
SaxTutor has been available now since
1995 in a 'donate' ware format and I
would like to take this opportunity to thank those people who donated
time,
money, postcards and help over the last few years.
As many of you may
know, SaxTutor saw no development in the period 2000 - 2002, due simply to my
other
work comitments. Now however I am currently 'resting' and with this in
mind, it seemed a good time to revisit
SaxTutor and start to make it the
product I always wanted it to be. One of the disadvantages of
'resting'
however is that it doesn't actually generate much money and simple
things like web-hosting, and domain name
maintenance do cost money. So, with
the release of SaxTutor 2002, I have decided to make SaxTutor
'shareware'.
This way, hopefully, it will be able to pay for it's own maintenance.
Of
course, I still want to continue the ethos of 'essentially free' that has been a
part of SaxTutor for so long.
Taking all this into account, SaxTutor 2002 has
all the free elements that were in SaxTutor P013. You can still
enjoy all the
primary scales, the altissimo fingerings, the user loadable patterns, the easy
and simple
transpositions AND you can also enjoy some new screens which are
the opening ideas for more development
of SaxTutor. If you register the
program (for just $9.99 inclusive!) you will also be able to enjoy
some
additional information screens, more scales, and, much more importantly,
you will be supporting SaxTutor
development.
Did you read all this?
Well if you did, I saved the most important things until last. Registering gives
access to
the all new Pentatonic and Blues scales, they are FUNKY!, when you
get them it may change your playing
forever. Registered users can also PRINT
the various scale fingerings.
Finally, to all of you registered or
unregistered, I genuinely hope you enjoy the program.
